CD163 Information for Pathologists
Summary:CD163 is a scavenger receptor that binds hemoglobin-haptoglobin complexes in plasma. The soluble form of the protein attenuates immune responses.
Common Uses By Pathologists:CD163 staining is observed in histiocytic sarcoma. Monocytes and macrophages stain CD163+ in most healthy and disease samples.
