General Description of Neurofilament .
This antibody reacts with 70 and 200 kDa component of the neurofilament polypeptide subunit. It stains neurons, neuronal processes and peripheral nerves. This antibody reacts with some neuroblastomas and gangliomas but not with other non-neuronal tumors.

Antibody (Suitable for clinical applications)

Neurofilament Information for Pathologists

Summary:

Major cytoskeletal element in nerve axons and dendrites. Consist of three distinct polypeptides, the neurofilament triplet. Metabolism appears to be disturbed in Alzheimer's disease, as indicated by the presence of neurofilament epitopes in the neurofibrillary tangles, and by severe reduction of gene expression for the light neurofilament subunit of the neurofilament triplet in brains of Alzheimer's patients. Positive staining - normal Neuronal cells.

Limitations and Warranty

This antibody is manufactured in accordance with clinical good manufacturing practices in an ISO13485:2016 certified production facility. It is intended for multiple uses including in vitro diagnostic use and research use only applications. Please see vial label for expiration date. We strive to always deliver antibodies with a shelf life of at least two years.
