Human Anti-Alpha-1-Antitrypsin Antibody Product Attributes
Alpha-1-Antitrypsin Previously Observed Antibody Staining Patterns
Observed Subcellular, Organelle Specific Staining Data:
Anti-serpina1 antibody staining is expected to be primarily localized to the vesicles.
Observed Antibody Staining Data By Tissue Type:
Variations in Alpha-1-Antitrypsin antibody staining intensity in immunohistochemistry on tissue sections are present across different anatomical locations. Low, but measureable presence of Alpha-1-Antitrypsin could be seen inglandular cells in the cervix, uterine, hepatocytes in liver, trophoblastic cells in the placenta, glandular cells in the seminal vesicle, smooth muscle cells in the smooth muscle, adipocytes in mesenchymal tissue, cells in the seminiferous ducts in testis and squamous epithelial cells in the tonsil. We were unable to detect Alpha-1-Antitrypsin in other tissues. Disease states, inflammation, and other physiological changes can have a substantial impact on antibody staining patterns. These measurements were all taken in tissues deemed normal or from patients without known disease.

General Description of Alpha-1-Antitrypsin. | |
The immunohistochemical staining of AAT is useful in identification of benign and malignant hepatic tumors and yolk sac carcinomas. Positive staining for AAT is also used in detection of benign and malignant lesions of histiocytic nature. This antibody is may also useful tool in the screening of patients with cryptogenic cirrhosis or other forms of liver disease with fibrosis of uncertain origin. |
