Human and Rat Anti-CD34 Antibody Product Attributes
CD34 Previously Observed Antibody Staining Patterns
Observed Subcellular, Organelle Specific Staining Data:
Anti-CD34 antibody staining is expected to be primarily localized to the cell junctions, nucleus and plasma membrane.
Observed Antibody Staining Data By Tissue Type:
Variations in CD34 antibody staining intensity in immunohistochemistry on tissue sections are present across different anatomical locations. An intense signal was observed in cells in the glomeruli in kidney and endothelial cells in the cerebral cortex and colon. More moderate antibody staining intensity was present in cells in the glomeruli in kidney and endothelial cells in the cerebral cortex and colon. Low, but measureable presence of CD34 could be seen in. We were unable to detect CD34 in other tissues. Disease states, inflammation, and other physiological changes can have a substantial impact on antibody staining patterns. These measurements were all taken in tissues deemed normal or from patients without known disease.

General Description of CD34. | |
This antibody recognizes a carbohydrate epitope on a single chain, transmembrane, heavily glycosylated protein of 90-120kDa, which is identified as CD34 (VI international workshop on human differentiation antigens). Its expression is a hallmark for identifying pluripotent hematopoietic stem or progenitor cells. Its expression is gradually lost as lineage committed progenitors differentiate. CD34 is a marker of choice for staining blasts in acute myeloid leukemia. In addition, it is expressed by soft tissue tumors, such as solitary fibrous tumor, gastrointestinal stromal tumor. CD34 expression is also found in vascular endothelium. Additionally, proliferating endothelial cells overexpress this molecule than the non-proliferating endothelial cells. Anti-CD34 labels > 85% of angiosarcoma, Kaposi s sarcoma, but shows low specificity. |
