Antibody (Suitable for clinical applications)
Specification | Recommendation |
---|---|
Recommended Dilution (Conc) | 1:25-1:50 |
Pretreatment | EDTA Buffer pH 8.0 |
Incubation Parameters | 30 min at Room Temperature |
Prior to use, inspect vial for the presence of any precipitate or other unusual physical properties. These can indicate that the antibody has degraded and is no longer suitable for patient samples. Please run positive and negative controls simultaneously with all patient samples to account and control for errors in laboratory procedure. Use of methods or materials not recommended by enQuire Bio including change to dilution range and detection system should be routinely validated by the user.
Factor XIII-A Information for Pathologists
Summary:
Fibrohistiocytic marker; note that peritumoral cells may also exhibit Factor XIIIa staining. Also active form of factor XIII, an enzyme of coagulation system that crosslinks fibrin (Wikipedia: Factor XIII [Accessed 2 August 2018]). Uses by pathologists Marker of fibrohistiocytic proliferations. Marker of dermal dencrocytes.
Common Uses By Pathologists:
Marker of fibrohistiocytic proliferations. Marker of dermal dencrocytes. Differentiate dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (CD34+, D2-40-, Factor XIIIa-) from dermatofibroma (CD34-, Factor XIIIa+, D2-40+). Microscopic (histologic) images Images hosted on PathOut server:.

General Description of Factor XIII-A . | |
This antibody is specific to 160 kDa protein known as Factor XIII-A. Factor XIII is a beta-globulin found in plasma and is composed of two subunits, Factor XIII-A and Factor XIII-B. Factor XIII-A is the catalytic subunit and is a dimer of M.W. 160 kDa. Factor XIII is a dermal dendrocyte marker and v variable reaction with these types of tumors. |
