Human, Rat, and Broad Species Reactivity Anti-Smooth Muscle Myosin Heavy Chain Antibody Product Attributes
Smooth Muscle Myosin Heavy Chain Previously Observed Antibody Staining Patterns
Observed Subcellular, Organelle Specific Staining Data:
Anti-MYH11 antibody staining is expected to be primarily localized to the cytosol and plasma membrane.
Observed Antibody Staining Data By Tissue Type:
Variations in Smooth Muscle Myosin Heavy Chain antibody staining intensity in immunohistochemistry on tissue sections are present across different anatomical locations. An intense signal was observed in myoepithelial cells in the breast and smooth muscle cells in the smooth muscle. More moderate antibody staining intensity was present in myoepithelial cells in the breast and smooth muscle cells in the smooth muscle. Low, but measureable presence of Smooth Muscle Myosin Heavy Chain could be seen in. We were unable to detect Smooth Muscle Myosin Heavy Chain in other tissues. Disease states, inflammation, and other physiological changes can have a substantial impact on antibody staining patterns. These measurements were all taken in tissues deemed normal or from patients without known disease.

General Description of Smooth Muscle Myosin Heavy Chain. | |
Smooth muscle myosin heavy chain (SM-MHC) is a cytoplasmic structural protein, which is a major component of the contractile apparatus in smooth muscle cells. Expression of smooth muscle myosin is developmentally regulated, appearing early in smooth muscle development,, is specific for smooth muscle development. Two isoforms of smooth muscle myosin heavy chain have been identified, designated MHC-1, MHC-2. The antibody may be useful for the study of breast tumors as the presence of an intact layer of myoepithelial cells is an important feature, which may distinguish benign breast lesions, carcinoma in situ from invasive tumors. |
