Antibody (Suitable for clinical applications)
Specification | Recommendation |
---|---|
Recommended Dilution (Conc) | 1:10-1:50 |
Pretreatment | EDTA Buffer pH 8.0 |
Incubation Parameters | 30 min at Room Temperature |
Prior to use, inspect vial for the presence of any precipitate or other unusual physical properties. These can indicate that the antibody has degraded and is no longer suitable for patient samples. Please run positive and negative controls simultaneously with all patient samples to account and control for errors in laboratory procedure. Use of methods or materials not recommended by enQuire Bio including change to dilution range and detection system should be routinely validated by the user.
Terminal Deoxynucleotidyl Transferase Information for Pathologists
Summary:
Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase; also called terminal transferase. Nuclear DNA polymerase in thymic and small number of bone marrow cortical lymphocytes. Catalyzes addition of deoxynucleotides to 3′ OH ends of oligonucleotides or polydeoxynucleotides. Performs DNA synthesis using only single-stranded DNA as the nucleic acid substrate (Biochim Biophys Acta 2010;1804:1151). Used during immunoglobulin and T cell receptor rearrangement, adds diversity to antibody recognition sites.
Common Uses By Pathologists:
Interpretation: nuclear stain. Marker of B or T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma (only rarely negative, Arch Pathol Lab Med 2000;124:92). Microscopic (histologic) images Image hosted on PathOut server:.

General Description of Terminal Deoxynucleotidyl Transferase . | |
This antibody stains a 60kDa peptide in human lymphoblasts. Tdt is present in the cells during immunoglobulin gene rearrangement and plays an important role in lymphocyte maturation. Tdt marks both T and B immature lymphocytes normally found in thymus and bone marrow. |
