Human Anti-Prostate Specific Acid Phosphatase (PSAP) Antibody Product Attributes
Prostate Specific Acid Phosphatase (PSAP) Previously Observed Antibody Staining Patterns
Observed Antibody Staining Data By Tissue Type:
Variations in PSAP antibody staining intensity in immunohistochemistry on tissue sections are present across different anatomical locations. An intense signal was observed in glandular cells in the prostate. More moderate antibody staining intensity was present in glandular cells in the prostate. Low, but measureable presence of PSAP could be seen in. We were unable to detect PSAP in other tissues. Disease states, inflammation, and other physiological changes can have a substantial impact on antibody staining patterns. These measurements were all taken in tissues deemed normal or from patients without known disease.
Observed Antibody Staining Data By Tissue Disease Status:
Tissues from cancer patients, for instance, have their own distinct pattern of PSAP expression as measured by anti-PSAP antibody immunohistochemical staining. The average level of expression by tumor is summarized in the table below. The variability row represents patient to patient variability in IHC staining.

General Description of Prostate Specific Acid Phosphatase (PSAP). | |
Recognizes a protein of 52kDa, identified as prostate specific acid phosphatase (PSAP). This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of orthophosphoric monoester to alcohol and orthophosphate. It is synthesized under androgen regulation and is secreted by the epithelial cells of the prostate gland. PSAP is found in non-neoplastic adult and fetal prostatic glands, primary and metastatic prostatic carcinomas. It shows no staining in granulocytes, osteoclasts, parietal cells of the stomach, liver cells, renal cell or breast carcinomas. |
