other Lysostaphin Bioactive Protein Product Attributes

Product Type: Bioactive Protein
Recombinant Lysostaphin based upon sequence from other
Host: QP10778 protein expressed in E. Coli.
Available Tags: Untagged
Protein Construction: A cDNA sequence encoding the sequence of Lysostaphin was constructred and used to recombinantly synthesize the protein.
Recommended Applications: Bioactive
Application Notes
Recommended Reconstitution Instructions: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Lysostaphin in 20mM sodium acetate, pH 4.5 for optimal stability, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions such as 200mM Tris HCL pH 8 for optimal activity.
Bioactivity Data: Assessed by the decrease in turbidity of a suspension of heat-killed Staphylococcus aureus at pH 8, 30°C. Lysostaphin is a zinc enzyme therefore EDTA is an inhibitory factor.
Specific Activity: Determined to be 3,542 units/mg.

Purity: 97% as determined by RP-HPLC.
Concentration of other Lysostaphin Protein: Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods 1. UV spectroscopy at 280 nm using the absorbency value of 2.02 as the extinction coefficient for a 0.1% (1 mg/ml) solution. This value is calculated by the PC GENE computer analysis program of protein sequences (IntelliGenetics). 2. Analysis RP-HPLC, using a calibrated solution of Lysostaphin as a Reference Standard.
Endotoxin Levels:
Buffer: The protein was lyophilized without any additives.
Storage Conditions: Lyophilized Lysostaphin although stable at room temperature for 2 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Lysostaphin can be stored at 4°C up to 3 weeks and for future use below -18°C. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Physical Appearance: Sterile Filtered lyophilized powder.
