Other Applications: 1) Prepare 180µl assay buffer into a suitable container: The final concentrations are 11mM Tris-HCl (pH7.5), 55mM NaCl, 2.2mM DTT, 1.1mM MnCl2, 1.1mM EDTA and 33mM pNPP. 2) Equilibrate to 37°C and monitor at A405nm until the value is constant using a spectrophotometer. 3) Add 20µl of recombinant PTP-1B protein 12.5ug/ml in 0.1% BSA in DW. 4) Record the increase in A405nm for 5 minutes.
Bioactivity Data: Specific activity is > 10,000 units/mg, and is defined as the amount of enzyme that hydrolyze 1.0 nmole of p-nitrophenyl phosphate (pNPP) per minute at pH 7.5 at 37°C.

Storage Conditions: Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
