General Description of Recombinant Human BD5.
Human BD5 produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 51 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 5.8 kDa. The Beta Defensin-5 is purified by using an optimized multi-step FPLC method for maximum separation from contaminants.

Human BD5 Recombinant Protein Product Attributes

Product Type: Recombinant Protein
Recombinant BD5 based upon sequence from Human
Host: QP11149 protein expressed in E. Coli.

Recommended Applications: See Application Notes
Application Notes
Recommended Reconstitution Instructions: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Beta Defensin-5 in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Bioactivity Data: Untested
Amino Acid Sequence: GLDFSQPFPS GEFAVCESCK LGRGKCRKEC LENEKPDGNC RLNFLCCRQR I
Purity: Greater than 95.0% as determined by:(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin Levels: Not Determined. Testing recommended prior to use in cell culture and can be performed upon request.
Buffer: Lyophilized from a 0.2µm filtered concentrated solution in PBS, pH 7.4.
Storage Conditions: Lyophilized Beta Defensin-5 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution BD5 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Physical Appearance: Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
