General Description of c-Myc Oncoprotein. | |
The 9E10 antibody was generated using a peptide (EQKLISEEDL) within the C-terminal region of human c-myc, a protein expressed in the cell nucleus, where it plays an important role in cell cycle regulation and apoptosis. In addition, c-myc is considered to be a proto-oncogenic protein as it is expressed at higher levels in a variety of hematopoietic tumors. The 9E10 antibody is widely utilized to purify or identify recombinant proteins which have been engineered to express the 9E10 epitope tag. c-myc tagged proteins may be analyzed by flow cytometry, Western Blot, and ELISA, among many other applications. The epitope detected by 9E10 is highly conserved, allowing this antibody to be used in a variety of species. |
