Antibody (Suitable for clinical applications)
Application Notes
Specification | Recommendation |
---|---|
Recommended Dilution (Conc) | 1:50-1:100 |
Pretreatment | EDTA Buffer pH 8.0 |
Incubation Parameters | 30 min at Room Temperature |
Prior to use, inspect vial for the presence of any precipitate or other unusual physical properties. These can indicate that the antibody has degraded and is no longer suitable for patient samples. Please run positive and negative controls simultaneously with all patient samples to account and control for errors in laboratory procedure. Use of methods or materials not recommended by enQuire Bio including change to dilution range and detection system should be routinely validated by the user.
CD1a Information for Pathologists
Summary:
CD1a is a T cell surface antigen found on subsets of normal T cells. It is important in antigen presentation to dendritic cells, particularly glycolipids and lipopeptide antigens that traffic through early endocytic pathways. CD1a is also referred to as Leu6.
Common Uses By Pathologists:
CD1a immunostaining is used to diagnose Langerhans cell histiocytosis and to exclude other entities that are CD1a negative. It is also a useful means of identifying Langerhans cells in inflammatory or neoplastic disorders.

General Description of CD1a . | |
Cluster of Differentiation 1a (CD1a) is part of a family of majorhistocompatibility complex (MHC) antigen-like glycoproteins that associatewith beta-2-microglobulin. CD1a binds self and non-self lipid andglycolipid antigens, presenting them to T-cell receptors on natural killer Tcells.CD1a antibody labels cortical thymocytes, Langerhans’ cells anddendritic cells. It has been used to identify Langerhans’ cell histiocytosisand precursor T lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia. |
