Antibody (Suitable for clinical applications)
Specification | Recommendation |
---|---|
Recommended Dilution (Conc) | 1:25-1:50 |
Pretreatment | Citrate Buffer pH 6.0 |
Incubation Parameters | 30 min at Room Temperature |
Prior to use, inspect vial for the presence of any precipitate or other unusual physical properties. These can indicate that the antibody has degraded and is no longer suitable for patient samples. Please run positive and negative controls simultaneously with all patient samples to account and control for errors in laboratory procedure. Use of methods or materials not recommended by enQuire Bio including change to dilution range and detection system should be routinely validated by the user.
MyoD1 Information for Pathologists
Summary:
Myogenic transcriptional regulatory protein expressed early in skeletal muscle differentiation. Sensitive but not specific for rhabdomyosarcoma due to cytoplasmic and non-specific background staining (Am J Surg Pathol 2001;25:1150). Stronger staining in alveolar vs. embryonal rhabdomyosarcomasar germ cell tumors (also other cells as indicated below). Interpretation Nuclear immunostaining.

General Description of MyoD1 . | |
This antibody is specific to a 45 kDa protein, which is identified as MyoD1. This antibody is specific to an epitope of amino acid 3-56 in the N-terminus of mouse MyoD1. This antibody does not react with myogenin, Myf5 or Myf6. MyoD1 stains the nuclei of myoblasts in developing muscle tissues. MyoD1 is not detected in normal adult tissue but is expressed strongly in the tumor cell nuclei of rhabdomyosarcomas. |
