Dengue virus Serotype 2 VLP Protein Product Attributes
Product Type: Recombinant Protein
Recombinant Dengue virus (DENV-2) Serotype 2 VLP protein based upon sequence from: Dengue virus (Strain: Thailand/16681/1984). This VLP protein is combinantion of the C, E1 and E2 sequences. Virus-Like Particles (VLPs) are a new form of protein expression that consist of protein shells with outer proteins that are specific to the given virus. VLPs are immunogenic but are non-infectious, lacking the primary genetic material of the virus. Additionally, VLPs more effectively activate aspects of the immune response, which improves immune stimulation and immunological memory. VLP-based vaccines have also shown to provide effective protection and are in current use for several diseases.
