Human, Rat (-), and Ferret (-) Anti-Epcam / CD326 Antibody Product Attributes
Epcam / CD326 Previously Observed Antibody Staining Patterns
Observed Subcellular, Organelle Specific Staining Data:
Anti-EPCAM antibody staining is expected to be primarily localized to the plasma membrane.
Observed Antibody Staining Data By Tissue Disease Status:
Tissues from cancer patients, for instance, have their own distinct pattern of Epcam / CD326 expression as measured by anti-Epcam / CD326 antibody immunohistochemical staining. The average level of expression by tumor is summarized in the table below. The variability row represents patient to patient variability in IHC staining.

General Description of Epcam / CD326. | |
This antibody reacts with the first EGF repeat in the extracellular domain of Epcam. It is a 40-43kDa transmembrane epithelial glycoprotein, also identified as epithelial specific antigen (ESA), or epithelial cellular adhesion molecule (Epcam). It is expressed on baso-lateral cell surface in most simple epithelia, a vast majority of carcinomas with the exception of adult squamous epithelium, hepatocytes, gastric epithelial cells. This antibody has been used to distinguish adenocarcinoma from pleural mesothelioma, hepatocellular carcinoma. This antibody is also useful in distinguishing serous carcinomas of the ovary from mesothelioma. |
